Transferring to Saint Francis
Transfer Credit Overview and Guidelines
For Current Students
If you are looking to take a course at another college or university, you must first complete an Outside Course Verification Form on Form Central.
For Students Transferring to Saint Francis
If you completed coursework at a regionally accredited institution, Saint Francis will evaluate and post the credits to your Saint Francis transcript, provided you earned a grade of “C” or better. Elective credit only is awarded for credits earned at a nationally accredited institution such as Sanford-Brown College and Everest College. Accepted credit hours are not included in the computation of your Saint Francis GPA.
The Transfer Services Coordinator determines approval of transferable courses and acceptance of transfer credit is subject to change at any time. Be sure to check the Academic Catalog (catalog.sf.edu) for degree requirements for your major and a complete list of general education courses.
Using Indiana’s Core Transfer Library (CTL) makes it easy to find out more details about the courses you intend to transfer. The CTL is an extensive, regularly updated collection of courses that are pre-approved for transfer among all Indiana public colleges and universities, as well as some participating independent institutions. As a reminder, this is dependent on the fact that required grades were earned.
Note the following exceptions:
- Allied Health and Science majors have a five-year limit on transferring science and pharmacology courses.
- Information Technology courses taken more than five years before enrollment at Saint Francis are not transferable.
- Nursing majors have a five-year limit on transferring pharmacology courses. If a pharmacology course was taken within the past five years from a regionally accredited institution, a syllabus must be provided for consideration by the Nursing department.
If you earned credit from any of the following colleges or universities, see their Guidelines for information on commonly transferred courses:
