Advanced Placement and Dual Credit

High School Advanced Placement and Dual Credit

If you successfully completed a College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examination, you can earn college credit from Saint Francis. In accordance with the American Council on Education recommendation, Saint Francis grants college credit for AP examination scores of 3, 4, or 5.

To secure credit, you must ask the College Board to send your official AP examination score report to the Office of the Registrar. You will not receive a Saint Francis grade for the course in which you earned the AP credit; AP credits will not be factored into your GPA.

You will have the option to decline all or part of the AP credit awards. In some cases, credit may be awarded for a course included in the curriculum of your major area of study. In other cases, credit is awarded for either a course in the general education curriculum or a general elective course.

AP Course Equivalencies show the credits awarded per course and test score.

Dual Credit

If you successfully completed any dual credit college courses as a high school student, please submit an official transcript from that college/university to the Registrar’s Office, and we will evaluate it for transfer credit.
