Campus Life

If you’re a commuter, you’re in good company: many USF students travel daily between campus and home. Commuting has its own benefits and challenges, of course, and we are prepared to help you maximize your experience.

Commuter & Off-Campus Support Services

USF’s Commuter & Off-Campus Support Services office helps non-residential students stay connected and involved. We work with the Office of Student Activities to plan social and professional events that fit commuters’ schedules. In addition to our monthly e-newsletter, we’ll keep you up-to-date on available resources, support, and campus events.

Commuter Resources & Opportunities

Ways to Get Involved

There are many ways for commuters to participate in campus activities, including leadership opportunities, service, or just plain fun (intramurals, live performances, road trips!). USF hosts a full schedule of free or low-cost events.

  • See all our student-related news, events, and opportunities at sf.presence.io.
  • Contact the Director of Student Activities if you have questions or want to get plugged in to campus life!

Support: Who to Go To

There are many friendly faces on campus but sometimes it’s hard to know who can help with a particular question. In general:

  • Questions about your curriculum or major should be directed to your academic advisor
  • Questions about academic assistance (including tutoring, test-taking help, writing assistance, etc.) should be directed to Student Success.
  • Questions about internships, practicums, job placement, résumé and interview preparation should be directed to the Career Outreach Center.
  • Financial questions should be directed to the Financial Aid Office or the Business Office, both of which are located in Trinity Hall.

Still not sure? Contact the Office of Student Affairs at 260-399-8100 or [email protected].

Meal Plans

Commuters can purchase a Commuter Meal Plan or simply add money to the OneCard (under “Aux Points”) in order to eat in any of our campus dining facilities.

Commuter meal plans may be purchased at any time for fall or spring semesters.  Any remaining meals will carry over from fall to spring semester.

  • 10-meals $70
  • 25-meals $160

To purchase a commuter meal plan:

  • Sign into My Cougar Connection.
