Belonging at Saint Francis
Our Community is Exceptional Because of You.
We are a community of unique individuals from diverse backgrounds. At the University of Saint Francis, we embrace our differences and support all students in their pursuit of faith, learning, leadership and service. You belong here.
DIGNITY
The St. Benedict the Moor Justice Center hosts educational programming, events, and celebrations that focus on the Catholic principles of peace, justice, and the dignity of the human person.
EQUALITY
To ensure equal access to academic programs and campus activities, Saint Francis provides accommodations, equipment, and coordinated services for students with documented disabilities.
SOLIDARITY
Find mutual support and belonging by joining or leading a student group like the Black Student Association or Los Primos. Become a Justice Center Advocate to keep dialogue going among your peers.
Living Our Values of Service and Justice
Guided by our Franciscan values, Saint Francis sees and celebrates the unique dignity of each person. The St. Benedict the Moor Justice Center lives out that aspect of our mission through educational programming, service opportunities, cultural celebrations and peer mentoring.
Making a Home for Commuters
If you’re a commuter or off-campus student, you’re in good company: more than half of Cougars travel daily between campus and home. We’ll help you feel at home while you’re here—and maximize your Saint Francis experience.
Celebrating All Faith Traditions
Students of all faith traditions are welcome at Saint Francis. Each month, we hold student-led worship services which are full of music, personal testimony and fellowship.
“When I was looking at colleges Saint Francis stood out. Everyone I met on campus took an interest in me, especially the professors. I felt that I mattered. I felt at home. That feeling held up 100%.”
Jordan Konstanty ’22 Medical student, Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine
“Saint Francis is very welcoming and inclusive. They use the tagline ‘You Belong Here,’ and it’s so true. It’s a diverse community and we have our differences, but we all come together. I find this so refreshing because, in most places, our differences divide us. At Saint Francis, we learn to use them to unite us and make us a stronger community.”
Dahiro Omar ’24 Biology/Pre-Physician Assistant
“When I visited Saint Francis, my perspective changed. I saw how the Franciscan values influenced the campus. The tour guide, professors, and everyone I met that day were all really positive and supportive. I knew then that Saint Francis was a perfect place for me.”
Lizzie Gomez ’23 Pediatric Nurse (RN) at Lutheran
“I’m a commuter and I feel very connected to campus. I’m always here! I’ll stay after classes and study with my friends, and I attend a lot of the activities, too. The university makes a point to include commuters.”
