Three Rivers Science Symposium

Earn a Scholarship Through  Humanities and Sciences

Experience scientific research at the college level and take advantage of an opportunity to earn a scholarship to USF through the Three Rivers Symposium. Scholarships totaling $32,000 will be awarded to a select number of participants with individual awards ranging from $500 to $2,500, renewable on a yearly basis. These scholarships are for students who plan to attend USF and major in a program offered by the School of Arts and Sciences.

The Spring Symposium takes place Friday, October 17, 2008.

You can study one of the following research topics at the Fall Symposium:

  1. Mudslinging 101: Politics, Propanganda and Pardy
  2. Catholics and Politics:  From Emperor Constantine to Pope Bendic XVI
  3. Forensic Chemistry
  4. Math Puzzles and Gaves
  5. Marine Biology

Openings are limited, so be sure to send all requested materials as soon as possible. To apply, download and complete an application form.

Complete application packets must be received by October 6, 2008. This includes the application form, a recommendation form from a high school science teacher, and official high school transcript showing PACT, ACT, PSAT, or SAT test scores if you have taken them, and a check for $30 payable to the University of Saint Francis. The fee will be refunded if you are not selected to participate. Once accepted, there are no additional costs for this symposium. Acceptance notices will be mailed to participants on Wednesday, October 8, 2008.

Please bring pens, pencils, paper, and a calculator. Lunch will be provided.
