Kendra Ganger

Instructor, Physical Therapist Assistant Studies

Bio

Kendra has been an instructor at Saint Francis since August 2021 in the Physical Therapist Assistant Studies Department. As a licensed PTA and instructor at Saint Francis, Kendra continuously learns new techniques and progressions in the field of physical therapy.  Kendra enjoys her students and patients as well as volunteering and giving back to the community.  Kendra is passionate about learning and teaching to establish well-rounded clinicians who will eventually become peers in the clinical setting.

Kendra started her career in home health care as a new grad and quickly transitioned to the outpatient setting as a licensed PTA and has real-life experience with many various diagnosis and types of patients over her past 10 years of her career.  Eventually, Kendra found a love for oncology rehab which homed in her manual therapy skills and need to learn the most she could about the effects of cancer on the population and how it can be beneficial to have physical therapy for improved quality of life.

Throughout Kendra’s time as a PTA, she found that she wanted to teach, so she became an APTA credentialed clinical instructor and began taking students, mainly from Saint Francis. Kendra currently is a certified lymphedema therapist through Klose Training Complete Decongestive Therapy as well as a licensed PTA and faculty member of the PTA program at Saint Francis. Kendra has also taken courses on breast cancer rehabilitation, head and neck lymphedema management, kinesiotaping for oncology patients, and various other oncology rehabilitation courses over her years of practice. She has taken Maitland manual therapy training as a PTA and various other courses to further her skills and education.

Along with her professional background, Kendra enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering in her hometown of Antwerp, Ohio for the high school track team and is on the Event Leadership Team for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an annual walk for breast cancer survivors and those touched by breast cancer in their lives.
