Dr. Julie Gardner
Bio
Julie holds a Doctor of Education from Logan University, along with a Master of Science in Biology, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Purdue University. Her doctoral work focused on health professions education, with a dissertation examining the impact of orientation on student preparation and success among associate degree students. She is an ASCP-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist with a specialization in clinical microbiology and remains actively engaged in clinical practice in service to her community and university students. Julie teaches Microbiology for Health Professionals, emphasizing applied and practice-based learning for nursing and allied health disciplines. Her scholarly interests include curriculum design and alignment, evidence-based program development, strategic planning, including workforce and academic pathway development, and student success in health sciences education.
