Claire Schmidt, MSN, RN

Bio

As a Registered Nurse and nursing educator, Claire is focused on instilling compassionate, professional care in the next generation of nurses. A graduate of the Indiana University School of Nursing and Purdue University Northwest, she holds a bachelor of science in Nursing and a master’s of science in Nursing Education.

With expertise and experience in Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum nursing (having worked at Porter Regional and Franciscan Health hospitals), Claire teaches maternity and pediatric nursing at the university’s Crown Point location. She previously taught at Ivy Tech Community College.

Claire has three children with her husband who keep her very busy.  Outside of teaching, she enjoys running, baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends
