FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis invites the public to experience “Stanton Clark: Astro Botanicals” from Oct. 21 through Oct. 27 at the Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center, 1014 Leesburg Road. Admission is free.
Stanton Clark is a multi-media based sculpture and installation artist from Vallejo, California. His large-scale and otherworldly textile sculptures are illuminated from the inside out, which create abstract “botanical” structures that glow within their surroundings. Audiences can move in and around each sculpture meditatively while engaging with the natural and abstract forms of each sculpture. Clark, who grew up in Fort Wayne, moved to California to design sculptures and toys.
An artist’s reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at the Rolland Art Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
