FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis Office of Academic Affairs will present a panel discussion about the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the North Campus Auditorium, 2702 Spring Street.
“Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Prophet and Man of God” will explore the religious roots and continued resonance of Dr. King’s message in contemporary American life more than a half century since his death.
Speakers include:
- Garry Hamilton, retired Chief of Police for the City of Fort Wayne
- Lawrence Lee, President of Leepoxy Plastics in Fort Wayne and lifelong advocate for civil rights
- Dr. Pearlette Springer, Director of Black Catholic Ministry, Archdiocese of Indianapolis, Intercultural Ministry and USF alumna
- Dr. Samuel White, retired Dean of the School of Engineering, Hampton University, and Trustee, Union Baptist Church in Fort Wayne
Dr. Clifford F. Buttram, Jr., Assistant Professor of Business and Director of the USF Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership, will facilitate the conversation along with a USF student. Dr. Buttram will guide a 45- to 55-minute conversation among the panelists, then open the floor for questions and continued conversation.
