FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis announces Dr. Amelia E. Clark as the Executive Director of the Center for Integrated Public Health Education and Research (CIPHER).
Embedded in the College of Health Sciences, CIPHER will train the next generation of public health professionals for northeast Indiana, as well as provide health sciences students with additional training in the fast-growing area of public health. CIPHER will be located at USF Downtown and serve as an academic research center.
“As a Hoosier, I’m honored to return to my home state to lead the University of Saint Francis Center for Integrated Public Health Education and Research (CIPHER),” Clark said. “I look forward to working with the exceptional leadership, faculty, staff and students at USF, along with community partners, to build and grow CIPHER so that we can address public health issues in our region.”
Clark most recently served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Spokane (Wash.) Regional Health District and as a consultant with the Indiana State Family and Social Services Administration. She has worked with healthcare and educational institutions for more than 20 years. Clark earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and master’s and doctoral degrees from Indiana University.
Founded in 1890 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, the University of Saint Francis offers more than 60 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through the College of Health Sciences and the College of Arts, Sciences and Business. In addition to its traditional programs, USF designs focused curricula for working adults in Fort Wayne, Crown Point and online. USF Downtown houses the music technology and graduate health sciences programs while offering enhanced internship and networking opportunities for students. The University of Saint Francis, recognized as an NAIA Five-Star Champion of Character institution, has 18 athletic programs boasting two individual and four team NAIA national championships. Approximately 2,200 students from a broad geographic region attend USF.
