FORT WAYNE, Ind.— University of Saint Francis Creative Arts invites students to participate in summer workshops and a camp this July. The programs will feature drawing, sculpture, music, photography and more.
Learning opportunities are available for elementary, middle school and high school students. A limited number of scholarships are available for students who demonstrate significant financial need, an interest in creative arts and a commitment to the program.
The summer programs are:
USF CREATIVE ARTS SUMMER STUDIO EXPERIENCE
July 11-15
Students entering the 9th through 12th grade in fall 2022, along with 2022 high school graduates, can participate in a weeklong intensive visual art or music technology program.
Visual Art
10 a.m. to noon / 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. / 3 to 5 p.m.
Students can choose three classes with subjects including Logo Design, Sculpture, Darkroom Composition, Drawing, Intro to Game Development, Package Design, Portrait Photography, 2D Animation, Poster/Billboard Design, Jewelry, and Screen Printing 101. USF will provide students with all supplies, and no prior experience is necessary. Fee: $250.
Music Technology
9 a.m. to noon / 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Students can choose up to two classes. The morning class choices consist of Hip Hop and R&B, and Jazz Improvisation, while the afternoon class choices consist of Contemporary Music Recording and Metal, Punk and Hardcore. Fee: $75 for one class or $125 for two classes over the weeklong program.
CITY STRINGS SUMMER CAMP
July 18-22
This camp will include group/master classes for strings (violin, viola, cello, bass). Students will participate in ensembles, scales, rhythm, and music theory. Students must have at least two years of playing experience, with classes for intermediate to advanced. The camp will culminate with a musical presentation on July 22. Fee: $275.
