USF to host Theology on Tap series for young adults

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis invites young people of all faiths to the Theology on Tap series, presented through the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.

The “Go Forth” series, planned by a team of local young adults, will offer a weekly talk by a follower of faith, along with food, drink and fellowship. The events take place at the USF Historic Woman’s Club, 402 W. Wayne St., and parking is available in the USF Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center lot, 420 W. Berry St. Food and bar service begins at 6:30 p.m., with the program at 7 p.m., each Tuesday in February.

A closing Mass celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 1 at the St. Francis Chapel on campus, followed by a Mardi Gras party in Brookside.

Thanks Be to God
Tuesday, Feb. 1

Rev. Jose Arroyo, Pastor of St. Paul of the Cross in Columbia City, will address what it means to live a life of gratitude. The talk will include how to express giving thanks through actions, and how thanksgiving is tied in with the Eucharist.

Real Presence
Tuesday, Feb. 8

Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend will explore the connection between the Eucharist and human anthropology. Participants will be invited to consider how Christ calls them into a relationship with him and others.

Go Forth in Vocation
Tuesday, Feb. 15

Jessica Hayes, OV, Pastoral Associate for Liturgy at St. Vincent de Paul Parish and Advisor for Vocations to the Consecrated Life for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, will speak. She will address ways Christians are called to “go forth” and live the virtue of love in their vocations, and the role played by the Eucharist.

Go Forth in Service
Tuesday, Feb. 22

Sister Jacinta Krecek, OSF, Director of USF Campus Ministry, will discuss the ways the Lord calls all to serve one another as expressed in the Catholic Social Doctrine. She will share practical opportunities for living out the Catholic Social Doctrine.
