FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis will present free monthly lectures from January to April in partnership with the Allen County Public Library. Registration is required, and the first two lectures will be virtual presentations.

“Weigh in on Child Wellness”
Wednesday, Jan. 19, 6:30 p.m.
Virtual presentation registration
Assistant Professor of Nursing Stacy Lehman and BSN Program Director Jennifer Richard will discuss the state of childhood obesity, especially relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will discuss family-centered, evidence-based tools and community resources.
“Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast”
Wednesday, Feb. 16, 6:30 p.m.
Virtual presentation registration
This presentation will use case studies to illustrate how the transformation of culture was the linchpin to the dramatic turnaround in performance at multiple companies. Financial Services Program Director Michael Cahill will provide a blueprint of how to accomplish this for your own organization.
“Would You Be a Good Eyewitness?”

Three different variables come into play when determining whether someone would be a good eyewitness. In this lecture, Assistant Professor of Psychology Dr. Mario Baldassari will provide an overview of these three variables so people can see if they have what it takes to be a good eyewitness.
“Living in Space”

With the billionaire club making trips to space and now a completely civilian flight to orbit, life in space is becoming a reality. What are the hazards and effects of the space environment that we need to overcome for successful life “out there”? Associate Professor of Physics, Physical Sciences and Mathematics Dr. Paul Schmidt will examine the science related to life support systems for space travel.
