FORT WAYNE, Ind. – University of Saint Francis Professor of Theology Dr. Adam A.J. DeVille will be a featured speaker at an upcoming virtual symposium presented by Harvard University.
Dr. DeVille will be among 20 speakers at the Harvard symposium on “Faith and Flourishing in the Face of Childhood Sexual Abuse: Strategies for Prevention and Healing,” which will be held April 8 through April 10.
Dr. DeVille, who is also USF Director of Humanities, teaches courses in psychology and theology. In 2019, he published the book, “Everything Hidden Shall Be Revealed: Ridding the Church of Abuses of Sex and Power,” and has appeared in media nationally and internationally to discuss the proposals within his book. His next book, “Married Priests in the Catholic Church,” will be published in April.
“My delight at being asked to participate in this forum with such distinguished international authorities and experts is tempered by an awareness of how much work all of us must still do to eradicate the pandemic of abuse and to bring healing to countless victims. Catholics have not even begun to tackle either task in any real way,” Dr. DeVille said.
Harvard is joined in sponsorship of the symposium by The Catholic Project, The Harvard Catholic Forum, and the New York Board of Rabbis.
Media interested in interviewing Dr. DeVille may contact him at 260-399-7700, ext. 8120 or adeville@sf.edu.
