Monica Kelsey, Founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, to speak at Science Seminar

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Monica Kelsey, founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, will speak at noon Friday, Feb. 22 at the University of Saint Francis Science Seminar.

Kelsey will speak in the Parkview Physicians Group Auditorium in the Achatz Hall of Science and Research Center on the campus, 2701 Spring St.

Kelsey will discuss her life journey, which led to the introduction of baby boxes at fire stations in many states. She will talk about the current status of infant abandonment; the Safe Haven law for mothers to voluntarily surrender their infant to a hospital, police station or fire station; why the anonymity of baby boxes saves more babies; how the baby box works; and success stories.

Safe Haven Baby Boxes Inc., is a 501(c)3 founded by Kelsey, who was abandoned as an infant. She has made it her personal mission to educate others on the Safe Haven Law and do whatever it takes to save the lives of innocent babies being abandoned.
