FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Laura Stine, owner of Laura Stine Gardens, will speak about “Benefits of Landscaping with Native Plants,” at noon Feb. 15 at the University of Saint Francis Science Seminar.
Stine’s one-hour session will be in the Parkview Physicians Group Auditorium Achatz Hall of Science and Research Center on the USF campus, 2701 Spring St. The event is free and open to the public.
As highlighted on her website, LauraStineGardens.com, Stine has worked in the landscape field for more than 20 years. She incorporates solid design concepts with the best plant choices, allowing her to create garden spaces that provide outstanding function with beautiful visual appeal. Her keen interest in plants has led her to research and design with many plants that are native to our region. These plants not only fit beautifully into the home landscape but also connect our landscapes and gardens to nature in useful and fascinating ways.
Stine has a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University and a certification in Landscape Technology from Ivy Tech. She is a member of the Indiana Native Plants and Wildflower Society (INPAWS) and enjoys using native plants that create healthy ecosystems while connecting residential landscapes to our native wildlife, including birds, butterflies and beneficial insects.
