FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Joseph Baumgartner, Ph.D., will discuss his research on small mammals’ response to environmental change on Friday, March 1 at the University of Saint Francis Science Seminar.
Baumgartner’s presentation will begin at noon in the Parkview Physicians Group Auditorium in the Achatz Hall of Science and Research Center, 2701 Spring St.
Baumgartner, who teaches at the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from USF in 2010, and his Ph.D. in ecology and evolution from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio, in 2017.
While an undergraduate at USF, Baumgartner helped survey the native freshwater mussels of the Maumee River, and studied mussel ecology in Crooked Lake in Whitley County.
Monica Kelsey, founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, will speak at noon this Friday, Feb. 22. Other upcoming Science Seminars include “Research: Kalamazoo to Kenya,” by Ally Brown on March 8; “Hope the Environment & Earth Day,” by David Radcliff on March 22; and “BATF in the Immune System,” by Rosemary Morman, Ph.D., on March 29.
