USF Presents “War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts presents “War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast” adapted by Joe Landry, opening October 25 at the Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry Street.
Based on H.G. Wells novel, the 1938 “War of the Worlds” live radio drama directed by Orson Welles caused a national panic. The drama described the events so vividly, it changed the history of broadcast radio forever and created a new understanding of the psychology of fear. Now adapted by Joe Landry, “War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast” retells the story of this infamous evening on stage. Music, live sound effects and vintage commercials are sure to thrill as audiences relive the Martian invasion over the Halloween season.
Performances will be presented Thursday through Sunday, October 25 – 28. Brad Beauchamp will direct.

Thursday, October 25 – 8 p.m.
