FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis will host a High School Music Technology Summer Academy for students in grades 9-12, featuring four different themed days. Students may elect to sign up for as many daily sessions as they choose. Each session costs $30 and will run from 1 to 4 p.m. starting on June 18.
Monday, June 18 – Working Inside the Recording Studio
Become familiar with the recording studio and learn how to make sure you are getting the best out of your recordings.
Tuesday, June 19 – Working with Film and TV
Learn how sound effects, Foley and ADR are created within film and TV. Students will create their own dialogue, sound effects and Foley effects inside of a film/TV. Students will have a hands-on experience learning how this process happens in television and film.
Wednesday, June 20 – Music Production
Spend a day learning modern music production techniques. Students will work with industry tools and learn how they can create music in different genres and the tips and tricks professionals use.
Thursday, June 21 – Applied Techniques
This session is the culminating experience from the entire week. Students will work in the studios and learn how all the individual pieces of a recording studio, post production studio and music production come together in a hands-on experience that will have students working with state-of-the-art equipment and industry tools.
