FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis will host the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 10/12A for students in grades 8-12 on Wednesday, February 7 in the Doermer Family Center for Health Science Education, rooms 156 A and B at the USF main campus, 2701 Spring Street.
Activities will begin at 6 p.m. with a 75-minute test. A program will be available to parents during the test, and the event will wrap up with food and refreshments. After the test, participation awards will be given to competitors.
An optional 90-minute preparatory session will be offered in the Doermer Center at 6 p.m. For additional practice materials, go to: amc.maa.org. To register for the competition, contact Carolyn Exner at cexner@sf.edu or 260-399-8067. The date of the practice test will be on the registration form.
First administered in 1950, the AMC’s purpose is increasing interest in mathematics and developing problem-solving ability through a series of friendly mathematics competitions for junior (grades 8 and below) and senior (grades 9-12) high school students.
