Grants
Your Guide to Grants
Saint Francis offers a variety of state and federal grants based on your financial needs. Grants are like scholarships: they don’t need to be paid back. The difference is that grant amounts can vary each year based on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some grants are called scholarships, while some scholarships are called grants. It’s tricky, but we try to make it easy to understand.
Federal Grants
Pell Grants
Pell Grants are based on financial need and are prorated according to your enrollment status. Pell grants are available all year, including summer terms.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG)
The FSEOG (grant) program is for students with a large financial need. The college has a limited amount of these funds and distributes them on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant Program to receive an FSEOG.
