SERVICE LEARNING
Service learning is a big component of a Saint Francis education. We help connect organizations in the local community to faculty, staff, and students.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We host a wide range of activities and events that bring together the campus community, from sports and recreation to lectures and discussions.
SOCIAL PROGRAMMING
Largely driven by Student Justice Advocates, our social and educational programming promotes cultural diversity and social justice.
How to Get Involved
The Justice Center promotes a sense of belonging and affirms the God-given dignity of all who make Saint Francis an exceptional place to live, learn, and work. Here’s a closer look at how we do just that:
Service Learning Opportunities
With our mission and values in mind, service learning at Saint Francis focuses on finding opportunities for students, staff, and faculty to learn, grow, and give back to the university and the local community. In doing so, the Justice Center interacts with various community organizations and our students, faculty, and staff to encourage a harmonious relationship of service.
Community Engagement
Throughout the academic year, the Justice Center hosts an array of activities and events designed to welcome and fully integrate students into the University of Saint Francis community. These engagement opportunities give students dedicated, quality time to learn from each other as one family. Events might include:
- Sports and games
- Community-building activities
- Service projects
- Dialogue and discussions
Social and Educational Programming
The Justice Center promotes student learning about diversity, inclusion, and social justice issues through in-class presentations, workshops, seminars, conferences, and other events. These opportunities include In Your House, a group-facilitated dialogue program designed to strengthen intercultural bonds in the residence halls.

Collaborations Across Campus
In addition to our own initiatives, The Justice Center often assists or collaborates with campus clubs and organizations such as:
- Los Primos (Latino/Hispanic student club)
- “Find Your Why”
- Cougar Kings (men of color engagement group)
Become a Justice Advocate
Student Justice Advocates help foster a culture of belonging on campus by helping plan activities and events for your peers. Serving as a Justice Center ambassador also allows you to build valuable leadership skills.
