FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The inauguration of Rev. Dr. Eric Albert Zimmer as University of Saint Francis president will be available for the public to watch via livestream.
Fr. Zimmer will be inaugurated as the university’s 10th president at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the USF Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St. While the event itself has limited in-person attendance due to COVID-19 pandemic precautions, anyone interested may watch via livestream available at sf.edu/inauguration/.
Fr. Zimmer became USF president on July 1, 2020, succeeding Sister M. Elise Kriss, OSF, who retired after 27 years as president on June 30, 2020.
Fr. Zimmer possesses extensive experience in higher education, including positions with the University of Notre Dame, Georgetown University and Creighton University. He most recently served as business professor at Notre Dame and pastor of Saint Patrick’s Church in Walkerton, Indiana. Among many areas of service, he worked for the Vatican as Official of the Secretariat for the Congregation for Catholic Education, Universities Section of the Holy See. More information about Fr.
