FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis is pleased to announce its fall enrollment of 2,168 students marks the highest total since 2021.
The university welcomed 1,989 undergraduate and 179 graduate students, including 264 at its Crown Point location, which set a record high for the second consecutive year. Saint Francis enrolled 1,524 students in Fort Wayne, 194 students in Gas City, 76 in Lafayette, eight in Greenwood/Indianapolis and 102 online.
The overall enrollment increased by 245 students over the fall 2025 total of 1,923.
“The start of the academic year is one of high excitement, and welcoming more students makes fall 2026 even more special,” Saint Francis President Sister Maria Gemma Salyer, OSF, said. “As evidenced by the growing enrollment at our regional locations, the value of a Saint Francis education continues to be recognized across the state. As always, our Catholic mission remains strong, and we look forward to providing an encounter with the heart and mind of Jesus Christ as we guide students toward lives of virtue, service and joy.”
The 2026-27 enrollment includes 835 new students and 1,333 returning students.
Founded in 1890 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, the University of Saint Francis offers more than 60 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. The academic structure at Saint Francis offers seven pathways: Humanities, Faith and Liberal Arts; Allied Health; Business and Leadership; Creative Arts and Digital Media; Education, Human Services and Community Care; Nursing; and Sciences and Medical Studies. In addition to its traditional programs, Saint Francis delivers workforce development healthcare programs in Fort Wayne, Crown Point, Gas City, Indianapolis, Lafayette and online. Saint Francis Downtown houses the music technology program while offering enhanced internship and networking opportunities for students. A National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Five-Star Champion of Character institution, Saint Francis has 17 athletic programs boasting three individual and four team NAIA national championships. More than 2,100 students from a broad geographic region attend Saint Francis.
