The study of history promotes the appreciation of understanding the diversity of the human experience. The USF history program specializes in an interdisciplinary, historically-centered approach to research and scholarship, resulting in a broad understanding of the foundations of the modern world by examining trends, patterns and themes from the past.
The study of history also enhances and sharpens the research, writing and communication skills that form the basis of a liberal arts education. A major in history leads to careers such as government service, law, business, or museum and archival work as well as graduate study.
Scholarships are available for History, Sociology, Polical Science and Pre-Law majors through the Liberal Arts Scholarship Exam as well as other resources from the Office of Financial Aid.
