Our 6-credit workforce development healthcare hybrid program offers industry expertise, hands-on learning and professional connections. Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to take the certification exam (via the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) and become a Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).

The Central Service Technician program consists of two online courses and 400 hours of direct clinical experience in sterile processing/central services. Flexible in design, the program offers two options:

  • Complete in two semesters with 400 hours of clinical experience (needed for certification)
  • Complete one semester with 200 hours of clinical experience and receive provisional certification for employment. Continue your education and clinical hours with employer before taking certification exam.

Bonus Opportunity

Students who complete the Central Service Technician certificate, will be directly admitted into our Surgical Technology AAS program, allowing them to earn a degree and additional certification in 17 months.
