Bio

As a former healthcare practitioner, my focus has always been the undergraduate science education of future nurses and other healthcare professionals, having done so since 2009.  I have taught at institutions in Michigan, Texas and Wyoming, before joining the faculty at the University of Saint Francis in 2019.  I believe in a hands-on, skills- and application-focused education, as well as a focus on inquiry and critical thinking development.  One of my favorite methods of instruction is the use of human cadavers in Anatomy education.  I have also authored lab manuals for Anatomy and Physiology laboratory courses and participated in numerous community education events.

Areas of Interest

  • Community education and engagement in the sciences
