Bio

Dr. Rachel Gilson joined the University of Saint Francis in Fall 2015 and is currently serving as the Undergraduate Nursing Program Director. Before entering academia, she spent seven years at The Birthplace at Lutheran Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in maternal and newborn nursing. Dr. Gilson holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing Leadership, a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership, and a post-graduate Family Nurse Practitioner certificate. She also maintains specialty certifications in inpatient obstetrics and obstetric and neonatal quality and safety. In addition to her teaching role, Dr. Gilson has practiced as a nurse practitioner in allergy and immunology and in home health settings.
