Janay Pillie
Bio
Janay Pillie has been an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nursing at USF since 2020. Prior to joining USF as full-time faculty, she taught as an adjunct clinical instructor for four years in both the ASN and BSN programs. Her clinical nursing experience includes pediatric acute care, primary care, home health care, and adult medical-surgical nursing. Her teaching philosophy involves assisting students to understand the “why” behind the elements of nursing assessment and applying this knowledge in the clinical setting. She has assisted in designing a Simulation Based Experience for her clinical course to provide students with an additional learning opportunity for this. Outside of the classroom, she has also assisted with the USF COHS Summer Camp, and is a member of the COASSAA/COACCSL committee.
