Chelsie Zuccollo

Assistant Professor of English, Interdisciplinary Studies Program Director, Writing Center Director

Bio

I am committed to creating inclusive classrooms through the use of Open Educational Resources and no-cost textbooks. I have been recognized by the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) for this work by winning the “PALSave Open Educator Award.” With increased access to course materials, my teaching focuses on how lessons can be relatable to and interactive for students inside and outside of the classroom.

I enjoy guiding students through complex texts, improving their writing, and helping them develop critical thinking skills. As a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), I appreciate using language to construct personal and public worlds. I actively enact this value by helping to organize Voices of Feminism at SF and serving as a writing judge in the Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio Regional Scholastic Writing Awards.
