Saint Francis announces traditional and new Christmas season events

The University of Saint Francis invites the public to visit campus for Christmas events from Dec. 5 through Dec. 9.

All ages are invited to join the Saint Francis community for these events. Information and registration available for all events at go.sf.edu/christmas.

CHRISTMAS AT THE CASTLE

Brookside mansion, 2701 Spring Street

Dates and times: Dec. 5 (4 to 6 p.m.), Dec. 6 (noon to 5 p.m.), Dec. 7 (noon to 5 p.m.), Dec. 8 (4 to 6 p.m.), Dec. 9 (noon to 5 p.m.)

Enjoy the beauty and history of Brookside mansion with decorated Christmas trees and nativity scenes on display.  This is a self-guided tour with university volunteers present throughout to share historical information about our beautiful facility.

Cost: $10

CHRISTMAS AT THE CASTLE PHOTO OP

Brookside mansion, 2701 Spring Street

Date and times: Dec. 6, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This new event allows groups of up to 12 people to pose for holiday photos at five festive spots inside Brookside. Bring your own camera and a volunteer guide can take photos for you, or you can bring your own photographer. Your group will have roughly 15 minutes per room.

Cost: $50 per group

BREAKFAST WITH ST. NICHOLAS

North Campus gymnasium, 2702 Spring Street

Date and time: Dec. 6, 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Learn about the legacy of St. Nicholas while enjoying breakfast, story time, crafts and other activities with family and friends. This event is a perennial favorite for families with children and regularly sells out.

Cost: $12 adults; $7 ages 2-12; free under 2.

LIGHTING OF THE LAKE and LIVING NATIVITY

Oratory of St. Francis, 2701 Spring Street

Date and time: Dec. 7, 6 p.m.

Experience the Nativity on the steps of the Oratory of St. Francis, portrayed by members of the Saint Francis community. Surrounding Mirror Lake will be luminaries honoring loved ones. You may purchase a luminary for $15 at go.sf.edu/lights.

Cost: Free (no registration required)
