Deacon Larry Oney to speak at University of Saint Francis Servus Omnium Lecture

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis, in partnership with Catholic Charities of Fort Wayne-South Bend and the Catholic Community Foundation, presents Deacon Larry Oney as guest speaker for the Servus Omnium 2024 breakfast and lecture, “Called and Sent for Such a Time as This,” on Tuesday, Feb. 13. 

Oney currently serves on the board of directors for Renewal Ministries, which operates evangelization efforts in over 26 countries. He founded the Hope and Purpose/St. John Paul Primary School in Uganda, East Africa, and the Hope and Purpose farm in Cameroon, West Africa. He is also the global chairman of Cloud2Media based in the United Kingdom.

Oney is a permanent deacon for the Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans and chairman of HGI Global. He is the author of “Divine Mission: Discovering Your Hope and Purpose,” and several other books.

The Servus Omnium breakfast and lecture will be from 7 to 9 a.m. on Feb. 13 at the Saint Francis Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry Street. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and tables of eight are available for $150. Tickets may be purchased through the Saint Francis Events Calendar.

Overcoming obstacles, Oney thrives in his ministry and his successful business career. Alongside his wife, Andi, he cofounded Hope and Purpose Ministries, touching lives across the globe. With his dynamic preaching style, Oney has spoken at numerous events worldwide, spreading a message of hope and purpose. He was the past chairman of the board of regents for the University of Holy Cross. He also served on the board of regents for Franciscan University.

Oney is known for his warm, animated and compassionate speech. He has appeared on EWTN, Franciscan Radio, Ave Maria Radio, Relevant Radio, Redeemer Radio, and FOCUS TV.  He is also the author of “Amazed by God’s Grace,” “Reflections on the Kingdom of God,” and “UP FAITH!” Through his faith, love for others and extensive experience, Oney uplifts and encourages people to live with hope and walk with purpose.
