FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis invites the community to its spring lecture series at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.
The series will take place once a month from March to May, with USF professors sharing insight about their areas of expertise. The events are free, but registration is required through the Allen County Public Library’s events page.

Speaker: MHA Program Director Dr. Michelle Fleig-Palmer
Everyone talks about the need for trust, but in today’s world it seems harder to understand how to develop and leverage trust. Dr. Fleig-Palmer will discuss the three key factors for building trust and apply insights from researchers around the world. Whether you are a leader in healthcare, music, manufacturing or other fields, knowing how to build trust is crucial to attracting good talent and motivating your team to work together. During these difficult times, your key to success is knowing how to build trust effectively.
Native Freshwater Mussels of Northeastern Indiana

Speaker: Assistant Professor Emeritus of Biology Dr. Warren Pryor
Northeastern Indiana rivers and lakes are home to dozens of mussel species, which have beautiful shells and fascinating life histories, and are of great value to the ecology of our rivers and lakes. Many of the 300+ species of American freshwater mussels are threatened or endangered, but efforts are underway to conserve them for our grandchildren to enjoy. Dr. Pryor will discuss a study that he and his students conducted in 2008 showing changes to the mussel community from over a century ago.
Painting and Drawing Over Time: The Work of Gaetano LaRoche

Speaker: Assistant Professor of Art Education Dr. Gaetano LaRoche
Dr. LaRoche will discuss the development and change within his paintings and drawings over time. He will present images of work from his early college days to today. The images will show his interest in working from life as well as from the imagination and within the history of abstraction.
