FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Jesters of the University of Saint Francis will present their annual spring performances on March 7 and 8 at the USF North Campus Auditorium, 2702 Spring St.

The Jesters, a performing arts group of people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), includes ages 8 through senior citizens. This year’s show, “H(OM)E,” will use music, dance, theater, improvisation, visual art, storytelling and animation to explore participants’ reflections on home and family. The show will feature cultural icons searching for home. These participant-selected references will include “Annie,” “The Wizard of Oz” and “Finding Nemo.” The show will also reference the book “The Missing Piece,” by Shel Silverstein.
The Jesters program and this year’s performance are made possible by the support of the AWS Foundation, The James Foundation, Inc., Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, M.E. Raker Foundation, the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Sponsored by the University of Saint Francis since 1978, the purpose of the Jesters is to enhance quality of life for people with disabilities by engaging them in the creative arts. The vision is to develop self-expression, self-esteem, socialization and other life skills while providing learning opportunities to the USF community and the community at large.
