FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis Coordinated Program in Dietetics has been granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
The accreditation is granted through 2026 at the baccalaureate level for a maximum of seven first-year students and seven second-year students with a Health Promotion concentration.
The decision was based on a peer review of a self-study report and a site visit by ACEND representatives.
The USF Coordinated Program in Dietetics graduated its first class in 2017 and will have produced 11 graduates by this May. Students have more than 30 potential sites for their practicum hours while they are enrolled in the program and there is a 91 percent job placement rate before graduating. USF boasts a pass rate of 88 percent on the Commission on Dietetic Registration exam, well above the national benchmark of 80 percent.
