JOB SUMMARY: Instructor is responsible for teaching students the techniques and pipelines within the Animation field. Instructor will deliver course materials twice weekly to the class at the defined course time.  Courses may vary from teaching 2D Animation, 3D Animation, and Motion Graphics.  

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities 

  • Teach course content during the scheduled course time (typically 5.5 hours per week) 
  • Grade student projects and assignments in a timely manner (typically 1-3 hours per week) 
  • Constructively critique student work for improvement. 
  • Provide students with additional learning materials and opportunities. 
  • Teach to the program outcomes. 
  • Teach to an agreed upon syllabus with the Program Director
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Education  

  • Master’s degree in related field OR 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with +3 years of professional experience 

Experience   

  • +3 years working in animation related field. 
  • Managing team-based projects. 

Knowledge and Skills  

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, and Adobe Creative Cloud 
  • Knowledge of the Animation pipeline including concepting, rigging, animating, and editing. 
  • Expertise of the 12 Principles of Animation. 
  • Knowledge of modeling, unwrapping, texturing, lighting, and rendering (applicable only to 3D courses). 
  • Knowledge of project management methods such as SCRUM and Agile a plus.
