JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Graduate Business Programs Director, adjunct faculty receive a one-semester appointment in teaching. Adjunct faculty members assess, plan, implement, and evaluate instruction for students in online and/or classroom settings in coordination with established course and program objectives. This a part-time, adjunct faculty position seeking applicants for 8-week online asynchronous graduate courses.
Adjuncts must demonstrate willingness and ability to support and actively contribute to the Catholic and Franciscan mission and values of the university.
The HR analytics adjunct faculty member must specifically have expertise in the areas of:
- Using quantitative methods to analyze, segment, and perform root cause analysis to answer complex business questions about human capital using HR, operational, and financial data.
- Applying, integrating, and assessing the impact of emerging data and metric standards in HR and human capital upon financial and business outcomes with real-world HR data and talent issues.
- Segmenting, testing, and applying simple and advanced metrics to transform data into intelligence for insight and prediction appropriately.
- Applying visualization tools and data to build basic data models that deliver insight, solve questions and tell stories.
- Analyzing, testing, and modeling HR and workforce data with both simple and advanced software tools to quantify and improve business results using multiple variables.
- Applying statistics with financial modeling to show business impact and quantify ROI.
- Analyzing talent acquisition processes.
- Constructing a business case with data that tells a compelling story.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Reviewing the course prior to being published and suggesting any needed improvements.
- Regularly posts announcements to keep students informed.
- Responds to student or other Saint Francis communications in a timely manner.
- Actively engages with students via discussion forums, email, and/or optional synchronous sessions.
- Grades assignments in a timely manner and provides detailed feedback
Faculty Responsibilities/Activities
- Adheres to all university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks, Saint Francis Policy Library, and academic catalogs.
- Participates in assessment of curriculum in coordination with the Graduate Business Programs Director.
- Attends adjunct meetings as requested.
- Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views. Faculty are entitled to freedom in the classroom. Academic freedom does not include teaching controversial matter which has no relation to the subject. No faculty member is free to promote or advocate anything in opposition to Catholic faith or morals.
- Actively contributes to the Catholic and Franciscan mission and values of the university.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- PhD. or DBA within a human resource or business analytics emphasis preferred.
- A graduate degree, work experience or teaching experience in HR Analytics, or related field, and the ability to teach Human Resource Analytics in an applied format.
Experience
- Prior post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
- Five years’ professional experience within the discipline preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates competence in educational principles, instructional methods, evaluation techniques and technology used in higher education classrooms, laboratory and clinical settings
- Demonstrates knowledge of the profession including theory and practice, procedures, and regulations
- Demonstrates proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and electronic) necessary to interact effectively with students, faculty, professional staff, administration, clinical affiliates, and the community
- Demonstrates skill in goal setting and team building
- Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities
- Demonstrates honesty and loyalty to the University and support its mission and religious affiliation
- Demonstrates ability to coordinate services to the needs of diverse populations within the time and financial limits of the institution
- Must be willing to work irregular, and sometimes long hours, including weekends and university breaks
