Student Leadership
Leading the Way for Tomorrow
Pursuing a student leadership role at the University of Saint Francis isn’t just about getting involved on campus and having fun. It’s also an excellent way to learn more about yourself, better understand others, and boost your professional competencies.
Our Student Leadership Program cultivates a community of competent, compassionate leaders who develop their individual strengths, apply essential leadership skills, and embody Saint Francis’s Catholic mission and Franciscan values.
Leadership Development for College and Career Success
Students in hired or elected leadership roles engage in The Core Four Curriculum, a structured leadership development program designed by staff. This curriculum strengthens student leaders in four key areas:
- Character – Developing integrity, responsibility, and ethical leadership.
- Competency – Gaining practical leadership skills and professional growth.
- Contemplation – Learning self-awareness and reflection as part of leadership.
- Community – Building meaningful relationships and fostering campus unity.
TRAINING & SUPPORT
Student Leadership Advisors provide whole-person formation, ensuring leaders are fully equipped to succeed in their roles. Leadership training includes role-specific mentorship and hands-on experiences that help student leaders thrive at the University of Saint Francis and beyond.
OFF-CAMPUS RETREATS
Come together with leaders from all over campus for a fall retreat in the great outdoors. During this action-packed weekend, you’ll learn a lot about leadership and collaborating with others—and have plenty of time for fun and games.
Leaders in Action
Meet biology major Aunzhanay Montgomery, who took on several leadership roles on campus, including serving as an RA, vice president of the Student Government Association, and president (and founder) of the Black Student Association.

“I got involved in campus leadership because I looked up to the student leaders I met. I’m a member of the Student Activities Council and an Orientation Leader. I love being an outlet for other students and helping them succeed. Saint Francis taught me how to support and serve my community and that’s something I’ll take with me into my pharmacy career.”

“Without Saint Francis, I wouldn’t be where I am. All my experiences in undergrad leadership inspired me for my career. I was an RA, Peer Mentor and Student Activities Coordinator—and I loved it. This helped me discover my true career path in student affairs.”
