Kayla Wolf, PA-C

Assistant Professor, Director of Didactic Education of the Physician Assistant Studies Program

Bio

I am a certified Physician Assistant with clinical experience in Emergency Medicine in Fort Wayne, IN. After graduating with my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Saint Francis in 2018, I worked full time in emergency medicine throughout the Fort Wayne region with Professional Emergency Physicians. I have maintained working a few clinical shifts per month in that same position after transitioning to full time academia in order to stay current on my own skills and on the application of clinical medicine in the field. Much of my passion and educational philosophy stem from my experiences in the ER. In the classroom, I stress the importance of valuing human dignity, developing critical thinking, and developing “soft skills” of patient care and empathy. My teaching role primarily consists of pharmacology content across the curriculum, with an emphasis on imparting an understanding of the “why” and “how” of medicine.

In addition to my teaching role, I play a hand in the administrative aspects of the Physician Assistant Studies Program, acting as the Director of Didactic Education. In this role, I oversee and maintain the classroom-based curriculum throughout 27-months of education: ensuring appropriate depth and breadth of content, compliance with accreditation standards, and suitable preparation for the Physician Assistance National Certifying Exam (PANCE). My role as pharmacology instructor is complementary to my work as Director of Didactic Education as it allows me to be involved in every module and area of curriculum.

MS in Physician Assistant Studies: University of Saint Francis, 2018
BS in Human Biology with Honors: Michigan State University, 2016
BS in Kinesiology: Michigan State University, 2016
