Elizabeth (Betsy) Slagle, MS, RN, CST, chair of the Department of Surgical Technology at the University of Saint Francis, has been appointed a Committee on Accreditation member to the Board of Directors of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The University of Saint Francis will offer six different public shows at the Edwin Clark Schouweiler Memorial Planetarium for two weekends during Fort Wayne’s Three Rivers Festival. The planetarium shows will be July 11-13 and July 18 and 19. Offerings will include the planetarium’s two newest shows and some of its most popular. Read more...

The University of Saint Francis has awarded its downtown campus project to Fort Wayne architecture and engineering firm Design Collaborative. The project will bring together the former Fort Wayne Area Chamber of Commerce building and Scottish Rite Center into learning space and opportunities for students to study new and established programs in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne. 06.23.14 USF Jesters offering summer program for people with disabilities
The Jesters, a University of Saint Francis performing arts program for people with disabilities, is offering summer sessions on the following Tuesdays: July 29, Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26 and Sept. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m., with all sessions but Aug. 19 held in the dance studio at the back of the university's North Campus at 2702 Spring St. The Aug. 19 session will be in the Rolland Center for Art and Visual Communication on Leesburg Road. 05.23.14 Haiti: a wellspring of USF love and support
Since USF student Courtney Shepard established Formula for Life in 2007 after encountering a starving infant during a medical mission trip, the student-led organization has been providing food, wells for clean water and, most recently, funds to build a new orphanage as the event has grown. Last year, the organization raised $75,000 for a facility for children left parentless by disaster, poverty, disease or abandonment, and this year’s event in April added over $4,000. Construction is in progress on 15 acres of land. Read more...

05.20.14 USF offering summer academies to high school students
The School of Creative Arts (SOCA) at the University of Saint Francis will host pre-college summer academies in theatre, music technology and art through the month of July for high school students in grades 9-12.
