Heather Jeffries

Assistant Professor, Criminology and Criminal Justice

Bio

Heather Jeffries had a 25-year career in the Allen County criminal justice system, prior to joining USF full-time.  She was the Chief Investigator with the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and was also a Case Manager/Field Officer with the Allen County Drug Court Program.  She conducted a recidivism study for the Allen County Drug Court Program and has been a consultant for Allen County Community Corrections.

She was the recipient of the LeePoxy Teaching Excellence Award, received the Franciscan Values Award, was recognized with the Advisor of the Year Award, and SOLAS Scholarship of Teaching Award, and her Criminologists in Action Club has twice been the recipient of the Excellence in Service Engagement Student Organization Award.  She works with her student club to provide awareness campaigns for domestic violence, impaired driving, and sexual assault, along with partnering with the FWPD Victim Assistance Program, the Sexual Assault Treatment Center and the YWCA Women’s Shelter.
