Master of Science in Environmental Science

This new program features faculty with a wealth of experience in environmental science and health.

Requirements

Applicants to the Master of Science in Environmental Science program must meet the following criteria:

  • Students with any undergraduate background may be accepted into the Master of Science in Environmental Science program. Students who have not had a major, minor or associate degree in Environmental Science must enroll in ENVS 512 Advanced Environmental Studies to provide the necessary environmental science background. Students who have not taken two semesters of Principles of Chemistry with labs and Organic Chemistry must enroll in ENVS 500 Review of Environmental Chemistry to provide the needed background in chemistry. These courses are graduate courses, but do not count toward the 36 hours needed for the Master of Science degree.
  • Students need a 3.20 on a 4.0 scale to enter the Master of Science in Environmental Science program. If you do not meet this requirement, you may be accepted on a provisional basis to demonstrate that you can do graduate-level work.
  • Complete graduate application
  • Provide three letters of recommendation
  • Submit a typed statement of professional goals
  • Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended
  • Submit a résumé 

Following review of submitted materials, an interview may be conducted.
