Ryan Bolyn tops 350 wins as Saint Francis softball coach |
In his 20th season as University of Saint Francis softball coach, Ryan Bolyn hit a milestone as his Cougars started the season on a strong upswing. Bolyn notched his 350th career win in the Cougars’ 4-1 victory over Cleary University on March 5 in the Space Coast Spring Games in Melbourne, Florida.
“It’s a testament to the hard work our players put in year in and year out,” Bolyn said. “Honestly, I just write the lineup on a piece of paper and the ladies do all the work. I am proud of all the teams and players that have gotten us to where we are now.”
The Cougars won 14 of their first 20 games this spring and have their sights set on a strong April stretch as they head toward the Crossroads League Tournament, which begins on April 30.
During Bolyn’s tenure, Saint Francis has produced 50+ all-conference or all-tournament players and 60+ NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes.
Bolyn played three seasons of baseball and one of golf during his time as a Saint Francis student. He also served as a volunteer assistant golf coach for six years and head coach of the women’s tennis team for three years. He and his wife Melissa (’01) have two sons.
