The St. Joseph School of Nursing gathered nearly 90 classmates on April 28 at the University of Saint Francis North Campus Gymnasium.



The oldest class represented was the class of 1953. There were also five alumnae from the class of 1973 celebrating their 50th anniversary. Their special day began with a brunch in the Brookside Ballroom and a tour of the beautiful mansion. They spent the afternoon reconnecting with one another and joined the rest of the alumni for the all-class reunion that evening.

Anne Koehl, a member of the class of 1974, was the recipient of the honorary degree of Doctorate of Humane Letters at the USF commencement ceremony on May 6. Knowing the important work of the Women’s Care Center in South Bend, Indiana, Anne worked to open a center in Fort Wayne and has served as director for the last 20 years.

Director of Alumni Relations Tony Didier stated, “This event provides an opportunity for classmates to share old memories and news of family and friends. It is such a special opportunity for USF to join efforts with the St. Joseph School of Nursing, and to continue their legacy with the St. Joe Endowed Scholarship that continues to be awarded at USF to descendants of St. Joe alumni. We are so grateful for their generosity that allows students to continue their journey in the nursing field.”
