A breakfast and lecture, “Servus Omnium 2024: Called and Sent for Such a Time as This,” will be offered at the Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St., on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 7 to 9 a.m.
Deacon Larry Oney, author of “Discovering Your Hope and Purpose,” will be the guest speaker. Deacon Oney, a permanent deacon for the Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans and Chairman of HGI Global, is an inspirational figure. Overcoming obstacles, he thrives in his ministry and successful business career. Alongside his wife, Andi, he co-founded Hope and Purpose Ministries, touching lives across the globe. The University of Saint Francis presents the lecture in partnership with Catholic Charities of Fort Wayne-South Bend and the Catholic Community Foundation.
With his dynamic preaching style, Deacon Oney has spoken at numerous events worldwide, spreading a message of hope and purpose. He was the past chairman of the board of regents for the University of Holy Cross. He also served on the board of regents for Franciscan University.
Deacon Oney currently serves on the board of directors for Renewal Ministries that has evangelization efforts in over 26 countries. He founded the Hope and Purpose/St. John Paul Primary School in Uganda, East Africa, and the Hope and Purpose Farm in Cameroon, West Africa. He is also the global chairman of Cloud2Media based in the United Kingdom.
Deacon Oney is known for his warm, animated and compassionate speech. He has spoken globally, appearing on EWTN, Franciscan Radio, Ava Maria Radio, Relevant Radio, Redeemer Radio and FOCUS TV.
