A SAVIOR IS BORN!

Let the candles in the castle windows, the shining Christmas trees and the shimmering lake bear witness to the Nativity of Jesus Christ coming alive on our campus.

As we celebrate The Gift at our annual Christmas at USF tradition, rejoice with us at many activities exploring the awe and wonder of the season.

Las Posadas

Los Posadas

USF students perform Las Posadas at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 as they portray Mary and Joseph on a journey through the USF campus, re-creating their search for lodging. A traditional part of Hispanic Christmas celebrations, posadas (which means “inn” or “shelter”) are held on each of the nine nights leading up to Christmas, from December 16 to 24.

The USF procession will begin at the Pope John Paul II Center clock tower and proceed through campus before ending on the shore of Mirror Lake to lead into the Living Nativity.


Lighting of the Lake

As a shining symbol of Christmas, vigil lights will encircle Mirror Lake. You may dedicate one or more luminaries to a loved one, in memory of someone special, to recognize a special occasion, or just to wish a student good luck with final exams.

Call 260.399.8034 to order luminaries by November 25.

Admission: $10 per luminary.


Living Nativity

Living Nativity

  • Lawn near Brookside
  • 6 p.m.

As an Advent tradition, members of the university community present a Living Nativity that witnesses to the power and presence of God’s love incarnate throughout history. Hear St. Francis tell the story of Christ’s birth much as he did in 1223 in Greccio, Italy.

Admission: Free

Parking is available off Leesburg Road.

Breakfast with St. Nicholas

Breakfast with St. Nick

Enjoy a morning of food and fun activities with family and friends while learning about the legacy of St. Nicholas. Bring your camera to take pictures with St. Nicholas.
