A Message To You From Our President
The University of Saint Francis exists to challenge and
engage a diverse student body by facilitating learning
and personal development in an environment permeated by
Franciscan values. This fundamental mission puts our
students and their personal and professional learning at
the heart of all we do at the university. Although we
have been doing this for over 110 years, recent
innovations and the completion of a comprehensive
strategic plan have strengthened our ability to provide
an excellent, student-centered learning experience
grounded in the Catholic/Franciscan tradition.
Our Franciscan values emphasize respect for each
individual, joyful service, a trusting community, a
deeper awareness of peace and justice issues, and
respect and care for creation. Our educational values
stress professionalism, scholarship, leadership, social
responsibility, faith and spiritual development. We
strive to integrate these values into all aspects of the
university's academic programs and co-curricular
activities. Through them, you will have the opportunity
to develop personally and professionally by working with
our talented and dedicated faculty.
Your professional preparation will be complemented by
a strong emphasis on the lifelong learning skills you
will develop by studying the liberal arts. All academic
programs facilitate the development of problem solving
skills, effective communication, technological
competence, and an understanding of our complex world.
