Club and Organization Descriptions
Art Education Society
The Art Education Society is a club for all Art Education
majors at the University of Saint Francis. For information

Among the purposes of the club are the following:
- Provide an effective transition from art education
preparation to professional practice.
- Maintain a high standard of quality art education on
campus and in the community.
- Gain greater insight and perspective about the
teaching of art and contemporary concepts in art
education.
- Sponsor service projects such as speaker, symposia,
exhibitions, etc.
- Promote an exchange of ideas in substantive art
education.
- Promote art education and all areas of the visual arts
as a career choice.
Among the activities that the club participates in are
the Annual Indiana Art Education State Meeting, FAME
Festival activities, as well as working with Reggio Emilia
Program at Whitney Young School in Fort Wayne. The club is
currently applying for membership as a student chapter of
the National Art Education Association.
Student Art League
Student Art League is for the benefit of USF art students
with a concentration in Fine and Fine/Commercial Art.
However, all USF art students are welcome to participate.
The goals of the Art Student League are to further educate
students outside the classroom by providing opportunities to
visit artists and galleries, inviting guest speakers,
helping students develop their portfolios and exhibition
records and prepare for graduate school, and giving added
opportunities for critiques. It is also to provide a social
environment for art students which allows them to share
experiences that help organize and unify art students as a
group.
Educators in Action
Educators in Action is an organization geared toward
elementary, secondary and special education majors. The
organization is involved in services and social activities
on campus and in the Fort Wayne area. Educators in Action
participates in community outreach by volunteering at local
schools, by participating in Jesters and by involvement in
Junior Achievement and Big Brother-Big Sisters of Allen
County. Meetings have covered such topics as first year
teachers, legal issues and teachers rights.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
FCA is for any student who wants to learn more about
Christianity. FCA does not promote or criticize any church
or religion. FCA exists to see the world impacted for Jesus
Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches. FCA is
not just for Athletes. This student lead group meets Monday
evenings at 9:00 p.m. in the Campus Ministry building.
Film Club
The Film Club provides an opportunity for students to gather
in a controlled setting to study particular landmark films.
Background is given on the importance of the film and
discussion is held afterwards. Some students will present
commentary on films they are interested in.
Intramural Athletics
Intramural sports offer USF students a wide variety of
athletic/recreational activities throughout the school year.
Under the direction of the Office of Co-Curricular
Activities and
Athletics, Intramural sports encourage enjoyment, social
interaction, equality of play and sportsmanship.
Orientation Team
Orientation team leaders are responsible for assisting new
students in their transition into the University of Saint
Francis community. The O-Team experience provides the
opportunity to become an effective small group facilitator,
build a productive and supportive team, expand knowledge of
the USF community, and meet new students while having a
great time. O-Team selection takes place in the Spring for
the following school year.
Paw Print
The University of Saint Francis student newspaper gives
students the opportunity to write about and photograph
campus and club events. Usually an eight page production,
the Paw Print gives students a chance to work in all areas
of newspaper production including writing, photography,
editing, layout, and pre-press production. The Paw Print is
available in all university buildings on the publication
dates.
Residence Hall Association (RHA)
The Residence Hall Association is the major programming and
legislative organization for the residence halls. The RHA
provides a representative voice for the residents living in
the residence halls at University of Saint Francis.
Executive Board membership consists of a President, Vice
President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The board will have
representation from each Residence Hall Council. Members
consist of residential students that have a sincere desire
to improve and contribute to residential life on campus.
Residence Hall Council (RHC)
The Residence Hall Council is the primary governing body for
each residence hall. Each RHC has representation on the
Residence Hall Association Executive Board. RHC members are
involved in programming for their specific hall. They also
work closely with RHA and the Residence Life staff in
programming efforts for the entire residential community.
Membership includes a President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, Wing Representatives, and any residential
students that wish to improve and contribute to the quality
of live within the residence hall.
SIGGRAPH
The University of Saint Francis Student SIGGRAPH chapter is
dedicated to the generation and dissemination of information
on computer graphics and interactive techniques. ACM
SIGGRAPH is an international organization. The group holds
regular meetings, works on chapter projects and presents
student film showings for the university and the community.
Each year the chapter sends representatives to the national
conference.
Student Activities Council
In conjunction with the Office of Co-Curricular Activities, the
Student Activities Council is responsible for the planning
and coordinating campus activities and events including
dances, lectures, trips, and special programs. The
Activities Council strive to provide events to meet the
needs and interests of all students; commuter, resident, and
non-traditional.
The student Activities Council is under the direct
supervision of the Director of Co-Curricular Activities. Membership is
open to all students.
The Council itself is comprised of: Council Members and
Coordinators.
Students are invited to attend the meetings of the
Student Activities Council so that they may take part in the
service training sessions sponsored by the council
throughout the year. If time constraints prevent a student
from becoming a member of SAC, she or he may offer input
either by taking advantage of surveys conducted by the
Student Activities Council.
Student Nurses Association
The Student Nurses Association at the University of Saint
Francis is a chapter of the Indiana Association of Nursing
Students (IANS) and the National Student Nurses Association
(NSNA). The varied activities of SNA encourage growth as a
professional nurse.
University Singers
The Singers are a credit course and can be taken for audit
or no credit. They perform a wide range of choral literature
for university activities and special concerts. In addition,
they will perform a Fall and Spring concert.
