From the Director of Strategic Initiatives

Lorene ArnoldI am the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the School of Health Sciences. I work closely with our Dean, Dr. Mindy Yoder, in an administrative role for the School which includes five departments that offer eight degree options. Most of what I do is “behind the scenes”- working on writing grants, writing various reports, and helping to plan and implement the School of Health Sciences Five-Year Strategic Plan. I collect and collate data for our School Evaluation Plan so we can make sure we are meeting the needs of the students, faculty, external stakeholders and accreditation agencies. I also develop and update School policies which closely relate to Department and University policies. As the Director of Strategic Initiatives, I help plan for the future of the School – reviewing where we are and looking ahead to where we want to be into the future. Without a strategic plan to guide our vision, we may never achieve it. I am dedicated to making our School vision a reality. “The School will become the premier center for educational excellence, compassionate presence, and innovation in healthcare by producing stellar practitioners who exceed the ordinary, achieve the exceptional, and lead by example.”
